New Vaccination Requirements

·         Varicella (chickenpox) vaccination will be required for all students K-9 starting with the 2009-2010 school year.

·         If a student has had the chickenpox disease they will not need the vaccine if it has been documented. During the current school year, parents can document that their student has had the disease by coming to school and signing their Kansas Certificate of Immunization form.

·         Starting next school year disease verification will only be accepted from a physician.

·         Tdap booster will be required at age 11 starting with the 2009-2010 school year. Students who will be 12 years of age on September 1, 2009 will be required to have documentation of the vaccination if it has been more than 2 years since the previous dose of Td/DTap/DT.

·         Students older than 12 years of age are required to have the Tdap booster if it has been 10 years since the previous dose of Td/DTap/DT.

Weather Station

We have our very own weather station here at FRMS. Get up-to-the-minute weather information for Fort Riley HERE.

Athletics

Get your sports physicals this summer by calling 239-DOCS.  They are saving one day a week and one all day on July 25th. 

You MUST have a current physical on file before student may practice.  It must be dated after May 1, 2009. 

Practice starts August 17th for 7th & 8th grade football, volleyball and cross country.  Practice starts August 29th for 6th grade tennis and golf.

Fall Parent Meeting will be held August 11, 2009 @ 5:00 p.m. at Fort Riley Middle School.  Students and parents need to attend to complete paperwork and meet the coaches.  Please bring photo ID to meeting to sign power of attorney.
